Got a new PC the other day. After taxes and what-not I paid $2k for it all. Was it worth or did I get ripped?

That is a huge ripoff and an Intel 9900k with a 2060 is kind of a joke. The 2060 card in general is a meme card.

To show you what 2k budget can actually buy.

Here was a build I posted for a friend recently that needed a new rendering machine for lower cost.
(Note for gamers this is not the optimal build per dollar there are choices here you would change)

So even with two 2060s its still a POS? I mainly play Overwatch, War of Rights, GTA, LoL, Apex, and I stream. Is it enough?

Its not even a POS its just a POS for its price. The card is a meme it should cost $250 but instead they charge 350 just because of RTX features that are fake and gay. Like the 2060 is better than the 1060 6gb or the R9 580 however IT ****ING COST TWICE THE PRICE OF THE 580

Those games at 1080p are more than enough with like a 1060 or 580 you didn't need a 2060 or SLI.

This would have been a better option for your use cases its barely slower than your current rig without the hassles of SLI. Dual nvidia cards are kinda iffy.

Also if you play Apex Legends & LoL you should prefer AMD cards in LoL its huge to have AMD card but shouldn't be too big of a deal as long as your not on low end nvidia cards.

So I basically just went overkill? Like I'll probably be playing BFV and Anthem too. I wanted something that'll last me a while.

You went overkill on the price but the GPU is not actually a good option. SLI is barely supported and that GPU is an overpriced GPU in first place. Going with a 1070ti or Vega 56 would have been more than enough and if you wanted to go all out overkill getting a 2080 or VII would have been a better choice.

Also you should have invested more into monitor/mouse

I wasn't as concerned with the mouse, as I have a Naga Hex already. I have a 4k monitor too.

His build would walk circles on this build. Also, a 9900k with a 2060 is not a joke, no idea where you get this information....

He would be wrong, as usual....

A 9700k or 2600x with a higher end GPU is objectively superior for OP's use cases.

Buying a 9900k should only be done if you are buying like a 2080/VII or better. Even then its often not really beneficial.

Otherwise go a lower end CPU & higher end GPU. Your bottleneck in gaming is going to be your GPU.

For a lower budget like 500 bucks less I could make a Rig with a 2600x, Radeon VII/GTX 2080, 32gb of 3200mhz ram, NVMe 500gb SSD & some normal HDD for storage and it wold be better than OP's rig in every use case.

He went with a lower end GPU to get a higher end CPU. Not worth it.

he meant it's a joke in raw value.

There's around $1550 worth of components there, so up to you whether you think you've been ripped off or not.

You've absolutely been lied to though, and supplied with some ****** components. That motherboard is tragic, and absolutely not capable of running a 9900k comfortably, especially with that cooler you've been given which appears to be a stock Intel cooler for some reason? There's a good reason Intel don't supply a stock cooler with the 9900k, they'd be starting fires lmao. You've also not got a 30% overclock on the 9900k since that's just physically not possible. A 30% overclock would be 6GHz+ for a 9900k. 6.5GHz if we go by Intel's boost speed for a single core. If they mean a 30% overclock from base speed, which only matters when the CPU isn't being used, then that means they've put it at 4.5/4.6GHz? That is slower slower than a stock 9900k would perform, which makes sense with that mobo+cooler.

Also, the RTX 2060 does not support SLI. So you're literally not ever going to be able to utilise one of those GPUs.

That's a bad deal, yes you got ripped off, not even an NVME m.2 drive for your OS. You should have an RTX 2080 in that rig for that price, as the poster above said, 2060 doesn't even support SLI.

If you're buying something already built, you're paying much more than what it's actually worth. Because you are also paying for a service.
