AMD FX-8320
8gb ram
2x750gb 5400rpm laptop hdd's
XFX R9 380 4gb
****** PSU

My GPU is 8+6 pin and I have only 6+6 pin plugged into it so I am kinda running into problems. No crashes yet though. Waiting for an adapter from Ebay.

I won't post benchmarks for it yet as I have an issue with my PSU only having 6 pin connectors so I am buying an adapter on ebay for $1 to actually run it properly.

It has an 8+6 pin adapters which means 150+75w + 25w for PCI to allow 250w max (it won't use that much though) where I am currently using 6+6pin + pci = 175 total watts meaning the card actually won't get to its peak and it will be bottlenecking itself for me as the card generally pulled about 200w under load.

I would not recommend to anyone else to plug 6 pin connectors into an 8 pin for long periods of time but I am playing around this I even lowered the power limit to factor in the reduced power. I am not an expert on electricity but I know a thing or 2.

Nice. I almost bought a Ryzen but I decided on the core i5 8600k. I was wondering about the 1700x, how well does it OC, and how is it on the power to performance ratio? Im able to get 5.0ghz out of the i5 with 1.35v consuming 123w. Holding at 85°C at full load. I know they perform better gaming at 4k. Have you checked out the performance at 1080 and 2k.
