Today, Microsoft has announced that 8 countries will not be able to get their hands on the Xbox One in November. Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland will have their dates setback to early 2014. Microsoft will now be giving the original launch to 13 countries, including the United States, instead of the promised 21.

"We understand this will be disappointing news to our fans in the impacted countries, and we are doing everything we can to bring Xbox One to you as soon as possible next year". Microsoft hasn't given a straight answer on why the delay was caused, but the changes did have to do with the inability to implement localisation on the dashboard, voice and language additions and local content and features for each country. They did promise, however, that whoever pre-ordered the Day One Edition in the affiliated countries will receive an unannounced game included in their console as appreciation when it launches in 2014.

I believe it's unfair for people to wait for the new Xbox, but that is how console launches usually happen, and it has happened in the past with the Xbox 360. It's impossible to satisfy everyone, but it might be well worth it in the end. If you live in one of the impacted countries, what are your thoughts on this delay? Let me know your opinions in the comments.
