Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End's multiplayer was revealed to the world earlier today. Gamers at the PlayStation press conference for Paris Games Week, got a sneak peek and the multiplayer Naughty Dog is carefully crafting for what may be the final game in the series. The multiplayer will come with brand new features to keep the gameplay exciting and fast-paced. Don't forget to check out both the multiplayer trailer and gameplay videos below, to get a general idea of what to expect when the game releases next year.
The Uncharted 4 multiplayer, will feature detail-rich, over the top action-adventure gameplay. In the multiplayer you'll have different abilities and features to increase the action in the gameplay. Sidekicks, which are characters who will assist you whenever you're in a tight spot. They will be AI controlled, and will come with unique abilities that could turn the tide of any battle. Mysticals, are supernatural abilities from the series, that will give payers unique powers. One of the Mysticals showcased in the trailer, seems to grant users super speed. It'll be interesting to see how these play out. Last but not least, players will have a grappling hook, which will assist players in traversing the multiplayer maps. The grappling hook will not only be able to be used to get airborne, but you'll be able to deliver a powerful attack by landing on your opponents.
Uncharted 4 will also feature micro-transations. Players will be able to purchase various weapons, tools, and upgrades; but don't worry, you'll be able to earn all of these via in-game currency. Micro-transactions will be available at launch, but there will be no gameplay items that will be gated through micro-transactions. It seems like Naughty Dog is avoiding a pay-to-win style of multiplayer for now, but we won't know for sure until the game releases.
Uncharted 4's multiplayer will run at 60fps, and will display at a resolution of 900p. While singe-player displays at 1080p resolution and will be run at a "cinematic" 30fps. A beta for Uncharted 4's multiplayer will launch in December, and it will feature a team deathmatch mode, so be on the lookout for upcoming news on that.
