The eagerly awaited Halo game for the Xbox One is described to be "much more transformative" than its predecessor Halo 4, which was launched November 6th, 2012 selling roughly 8.5 million copies at the time of launch.

A post by 343 Industries executive producer Josh Holmes on the Halo Waypoint blog reads: "2014 is here and much is afoot in the Halo universe. This past year has been a time of great transition at 343 as we’ve moved our engine and team from Xbox 360 to Xbox One and begun building the next chapter in the Halo saga," he said. "We’re proud of what we accomplished with our first release in Halo 4 and now we’re focused on something much more transformative as we make the leap to the next generation of Xbox."

Little is know about the new untitled Halo game, other than the game is definitely to be released in 2014 and that the game will run on a new game engine designed and developed by 343 Industries.

The blog post also discussed some of the changes made to the 343 Industries senior development team. The most exciting edition comes in the form of the new creative director Tim Longo, who has spend more than twenty years in the industry. Longo is most famous for his work on titles such as Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars: First Assault (unreleased), and Tomb Raider.
