Remember how, in the original Pokémon anime, the absolute coolest characters were the Squirtle Squad? They were a pack of BAMFs who tagged every wall they could find, wore sunglasses inside and at night, and basically gave zero craps about anything and anyone.

Now the Squirtle Squad is about to be the coolest characters in Pokémon Go, too. The game’s upcoming Community Day event will give players an opportunity to not only unlock a Blastoise (Squirtle’s fully evolved form) with the rare attack Hydro Cannon in its move set, but it will also give players the chance to find some sunglasses-wearing Squirtle out there in the wild.

This is the first time that Niantic has introduced a costumed Pokémon that isn’t a Pikachu. We’ve seen Pikachu in a trainer hat, Santa hat, party hat, etc. But we haven’t seen a single Pokémon in sunglasses. You know why? Because Squirtle is the only Pokémon deserving enough to wear them.

The Squirtle Squad continues to own to this day, more than 20 years after it formed. And on July 8, from 2-5 p.m. ET, you may be able to own one yourself. Go outside and take part in Community Day, and cross your fingers that you find even one boss Squirtle.
