12 years ago, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was released into the wild, gaining huge success and a sequel the following year. In 2011, Star Wars: The Old Republic was released, a MMORPG taking place 300 years after the events of the Knights of the Old Republic series. Even after all this time, there’s still a dedicated fanbase surrounding KotOR, especially on the PC version. Now that all this time has passed, the time may be ripe for an update.
Rumors are floating around that we may hear an announcement towards the end of the year for a possible 2016 release. While there's no information as to what the game will be released on, if at all, but it's reasonable to assume that we'll be seeing an Xbox release, and probably a PC release as well. At the very least, Phil Spencer has expressed his interest in the game on Twitter.
With any luck, these rumors will turn out to be true, and KotOR will be making its glorious return to the current gen. How many of you will be picking up a copy if this comes to fruition? Let us know below.
