Two new Clone Trooper skins will be available in Star Wars Battlefront 2 as part of the Elite Corps Update scheduled to launch on Wednesday, Aug. 29, EA DICE announced this week.
The new appearances are for the 41st Elite Corps, better known as the good guys who fought alongside Yoda on Kashyyyk in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith; and for the 327th Star Corps, who were (among many others) the bad guys carrying out Palpatine’s “Order 66” to exterminate all Jedi in the same flick.
Each appearance covers the Assault, Heavy and Specialist classes, for six in all. These skins have to be unlocked, either with 20,000 credits or 500 crystals, the currency bought with real money.
Elsewhere in the update, players will now have an option within the Home menu to prioritize Clone Wars maps within matchmaking. “This is our first steps to help improve matchmaking in the game,” DICE said. “We are constantly working on improving our systems, and strive to achieve progressively better matchmaking going forward.”
Additionally, the Ewok Hunt operation, which was introduced with the Night on Endor update in April, is now permanently available in the operations menu. Blast and custom Arcade games can now use the Naboo Palace Hangar map as well. DICE said these inclusions were made because both features have been fan favorites since their introduction.
And DICE also revealed the pricing for four heroes announced back at EA Play in June. Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grievous, Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku will cost 35,000 credits when they join the game.
“We came to this price by using our in-game telemetry data to determine the speed in which players are earning credits, as well as the average amount of credits that each player has saved up,” DICE said. The studio reasoned that it won’t take long for new players to acquire the credits necessary to unlock one of the heroes, and longtime players probably already have that total handy.
