Star Wars: Battlefront fans are in for a treat this spring, as creators DICE have outlined their future plans for the game, which includes both paid and free content. As far as free content goes, players should expect more in-game events such as Double XP weekends and community missions, as well as new Hutt Contracts for players to earn more Star Cards. DICE also teased that they have "a couple of surprises" that involves giving players more options to play the game offline. No other details were shared about the matter, however one can speculate that this could be some type of new Survival mode. On May 4th, which many fans regard as Star Wars Day, there are several activities that are being planned by DICE that are yet to be revealed.
As far as the paid DLC is concerned, Battlefront's second expansion has already been named and is set to release in June. Bespin will take players to Cloud City and will add in four new maps. "You'll see AT-ATs in Cloud City, take to the skies in Fighter Squadron, and even spend time in a carbonite chamber," DICE stated in an article on their website. Bespin will also add in new weapons, Star Cards, another game mode, and two new characters; Lando Calrissan, which is the Hero for this expansion, and Dengar, the Villian. There will eventually be eight total hero characters when all four DLC packs are released.
Outer Rim was released last Tuesday for Xbox One, PS4, and PC users. It included two new heroes, Greedo and Niem Nunb, as well as two new maps for players to explore and battle on. So far, the DLC has been receiving nothing but positive feedback and is sitting well with gamers. It's safe to say that DICE knows what they're doing when it comes to their fan-base, as they have been consistently listening to community feedback.
