Sonic to See Another Long Awaited Re-Release

Treasures seldom find their way from the void left between the ravaged grounds of the present console generation and their older, less powerful "parents," but that may soon change for Sonic and Sega fans alike. Xbox.com has delightfully leaked a landing page dedicated solely to showcasing an upcoming library addition to Xbox Live Arcade's repertoire: Sonic Adventure 2.

This comes as more than exciting news, for a re-release of one of the most famed Sonic the Hedgehog games in the franchise was long overdue. For those that remember the spectacular and seemingly never ending fun that spewed incessantly from lucky Gamecubes around the world with Sonic Adventure 2 in their disc trays, Sonic Adventure 2 was a superb platformer with plenty to do. From relishing the classic platforming found in Sonic or Shadow stages, treasure hunting with Rogue or Knuckles, mech mayhem with Tails or Eggman, or raising Chao, it is almost inconceivable that any Sonic fan would reject a re-release of Sonic Adventure 2.

No news has been formally released as to when Sonic Adventure 2 will be released on Xbox Live Arcade, but there are some details that can be deduced about the upcoming game library addition. Sonic Adventure 2 will most likely have leaderboard support and will permit HD and widescreen support. Achievements will be very similar to those found in Sonic Adventure 1 and so will be the remastering of the port. Regardless of these added goodies, Sonic Adventure 2 by itself, in all its glory and enjoyment, is a dish well served for any console. For those eager to play Sonic Adventure 2 re-release on a Xbox 360, keep your Microsoft Points reserves high and expect a possible summer re-release for Sonic Adventure 2!
