Developed by BlackBox and published by EA, Skate 3 is the third installment of the Skate series which released on May 11, 2010. In a recent turn of events, EA has decided to issue a reprint of the title due to an increase in popularity, reaching the 20th spot of the highest selling game of 2014 in the UK. The recent rise in popularity started from Youtube personalities that include PewDiePie and TheDiamondMinecart. Both who have featured the video game in their recent videos, which combined have been watched a whopping 22+ million times. As viewers dust off the game from their shelves or search for it at local retailers, more and more people are having trouble finding the game which has caused EA to issue this reprint.

According to MCV, the sales of Skate 3 have risen almost 33% during the first half of 2014, compared to last year. It is currently the oldest game on the charts in the UK and has also made its seat at #40 of the best selling games of 2014. With this recent outbreak in popularity, it has consumers thinking of what is next to come in the Skate series. As Skate 4 has not been officially announced by BlackBox or EA, rumors have said that the game is currently in the works. Skate 3 received a 9/10 rating from IGN and has been praised for its graphics, innovation, and control scheme, but as expressed from Youtube videos, the game still has a bunch of glitches and bugs that still remain within the game.

Will Skate 3 resurfacing cause a sudden inspiration for other companies to start reprinting older games? If so, what game would you like to see re-emerge?
