Starting later this week, everyone who wants to try out the new Quake in pre-release form will be able to frag to their heart’s content. Bethesda and id Software will be holding a “Large Scale Tech Test” for Quake Champions from May 12-21, the companies announced this week.
Previously, access to beta versions of Quake Champions was restricted to players who received a code and was only available to play during weekends, making this week’s tech test effectively an open beta. Players will still need to visit the game’s official website to register for a code. Quake Champions’ tech test “will remain live 24/7 for the full duration” of the 10-day period.
Quake Champions’ Large Scale Tech Test will also include a new playable mode, Sacrifice. The four-versus-four mode will require players to “form their teams and choose their Champions to work together to dominate the Arenas in this fresh competitive play style,” according to Bethesda and id.
Quake Champions is in development for Windows PC.
