Pre-Orders are strong for Assassin's Creed 3

According to Ubisoft, Assassin's Creed 3 is looking to be the most pre-ordered game in its history, thus far. It has only been a minute three weeks since the initial revelation, in which pre-ordering became available shortly after, and has received more pre-orders than its predecessors did during the same period.

Allegedly, Assassin's Creed 3's pre-orders are tenfold the pre-orders made in the US for Assassin's Creed: Revelations had in the same time span, and within the three weeks it has managed to tip the total number of pre-orders for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, an impressive feat. Ubisoft reckons that Assassin's Creed 3's total pre-order sales will match that of Revelations by June.

"The production value of the game, combined with the biggest marketing commitment we've ever made, will make Assassins Creed III the highest-selling Assassin's Creed game ever," noted Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Key. "Additionally, the new setting and hero makes this the perfect time to jump into the series for anyone that has not previously played an Assassin's Creed game."

Assassin's Creed 3 has had made a massive impact, with details of three special editions for Europe (Freedom Edition, Join or Die Edition or Special Edition) being unveiled last week; the top-tier of the three includes a 9-inch figurine of the protagonist, Connor, George Washington's Notebook and plenty more. Information regarding international special editions has not detailed thus far, though.

Assassin's Creed 3 is due to hit shelves on October 30th 2012 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC; the Wii U will also house the game, although it is unknown whether or not it will be a launch title, or shipped at a later date.
