Pokemon Sun and Moon are Nintendo's most successful game launch ever in the UK, according to Eurogamer.

Although they only came in at No.3 and 4 respectively, the pair sold double that of the previous two games in the series, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. They achieved higher figures in one day than Nintendo's previous record holder, Wii Fit, did in two weeks.

It should be noted that combined sales of the two would have seen them take top spot off FIFA 17 in the UK physical charts for the week ending November 26, according to Chart-Track.

Sales were likely helped by this summer's Pokemon Go craze, with over 25 million people playing the mobile game at its peak. Official figures have not been revealed for Pokemon Sun and Moon's UK or US launch sales, though the pair reportedly sold nearly 2 million copies in its first three days in Japan alone.

In other sales news, the PS4 had its best selling week since launch in the UK last week, while Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was finally toppled from the No.1 spot of the software charts.
