Starting today, PlayStation and VR fans in North America will finally get to experience PlayStation VR before its official launch on October 13th of this year. Sony is bringing their new virtual reality gaming platform to over 30 Best Buy and GameStop locations across the United States. Then on the 24th of June, their reach will expand to around 300 locations spanning across the United States and Canada. If you visit any of the locations hosting Sony’s PS VR, you’ll be able to play the demo version of PlayStation VR Worlds, EVE: Valkyrie, Headmaster, Battlezone and SUPERHYPERCUBE. In the coming months before the official retail launch, Sony will be adding additional demos to their locations, so make sure to stay updated on future releases. There will be a link down below where you can check out locations near you where you can play Sony’s PlayStation VR.
In addition to this news, Rocksteady, the developers of the Batman: Arkham series, have officially announced their next Batman game, Batman: Arkham VR. Continuing their strive to create unique experiences where players can feel like the Dark Knight himself, Rocksteady has decided to take a shot at the VR hype that has been taking over the gaming world. Players will be able to do things such as exploring the entirety of Wayne Manor, the Batcave, and even putting on the legendary Batsuit, all from a first-person view. The biggest challenges Rocksteady faced when developing this game was creating new experiences for players as they switched from “screens to headsets.” The game will primarily focus on Batman’s detective skills, with players using new in-game features to solve the mysteries the game will revolve around. Rocksteady has assured their fans that the game won’t stray from the “dark psychology” their Arkham games are known for. It’ll be interesting to experience the approach they took when developing this game when it launches later this year.
