Earlier today, 505 Games announced that a Payday 2 port was on its way to the Xbox One and Playstation 4. The Payday 2: Crimewave Edition will be making its way over to the Xbox One and Playstation 4 this June. The remastered version of Payday 2 is going to come with an improved frame rate, a 1080p resolution and various other graphical enhancements in the form of texture updates. No definite release date has been given as of yet, but we do know that it will be available for purchase sometime this June.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the game, Payday 2 is a first person shooter in which the main focus is to complete a variety of heists which can include drug trafficking, election rigging and bank robberies. You play as one of the 4 characters in the game, Dallas, Wolf, Chains or Hoxton and together, you complete a series of heists either with the AI and yourself or with your friends in a multiplayer session. In each heist you attempt, you are after something valuable such as money, or intelligence about a certain subject. As expected, you will need to fight through waves of police to get to your goal, but, the game also promotes the idea of being stealthy so if you do things like silently taking out an opponent or not getting caught on any cameras, you get extra experience points and it gives your gameplay experience a refreshing new taste. Payday 2 was originally released on August 13th, 2013 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC as a sequel to the 2011 hit Payday: The Heist.
The Payday 2: Crimewave Edition will come packaged with improved frame rates and a 1080p resolution. The game will also come with more than a years worth of downloadable content that was released for the PC edition of Payday 2 after the initial launch of the game in 2013. The content within the DLC is usually a few new weapons, weapon modifications, some new masks and other appearance related items and new heists to play through.
