Nintendo isn’t going to tell us more about the Nintendo Switch until 2017, but we won’t have to wait long once the new year begins. Tatsumi Kimishima, president of Nintendo, said during an analyst meeting on Oct. 27 that the company will hold a mid-January press event called Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 to announce details such as the console’s price and release date.

Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 will be held in Tokyo for an audience of trade partners, financial analysts and the media. While Nintendo did not announce the exact time of the event, the company did say that it will livestream the presentation globally, and that it will take place “Jan. 12, U.S. time.” Considering the time difference, the event will occur on the morning of Jan. 13 in Japan.

“The presentation will include the launch date and pricing for Nintendo Switch, as well as a look at the lineup of games currently in development,” Nintendo said in a news release today.

At “later dates” after Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017, Nintendo will hold events in the U.S. and Europe for “invited media, partners, and consumers” to try out the Switch. The company also said that the public will be able to attend hands-on events “around the same time,” the details of which will be announced in the future.

Nintendo lifted the lid on the Switch last week, unveiling the system — which was formerly known under the code name “NX” — as a console/handheld hybrid with detachable “Joy-Con” controllers. It is set to launch worldwide in March 2017. For everything we know about the Nintendo Switch, and everything we don’t know yet, check out our StoryStream.

Update: Nintendo said on its Japanese website that Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 will be held Jan. 13 (Tokyo time) at Tokyo Big Sight, also known as Tokyo International Exhibition Center. It is the largest convention center in Japan.

While Nintendo Switch Presentation itself will be an invite-only event, Nintendo will host the first public demos for the console that weekend at Nintendo Switch Hands-On Experience 2017. That event will also be held at Tokyo Big Sight, and will run from Saturday, Jan. 14, through Sunday, Jan. 15.
