New "Worms" game announced!

Oi nutter! Watch this! Worms? Yes that’s right, it’s worms! The classic strategy, potentially rage inducing game from your childhood, probably your teen years and perhaps your adulthood thanks to the recent releases in the series. Well if you’ve been getting sick of those old games (although I don’t see how you could since they’re pretty damn good!) fear not, because Team17 has just announced an upcoming addition to the series!

“Worms Battlegrounds” is set to release in 2014 for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, no word of a PC release yet but considering most all the previous worms titles are available on the Steam store, you PC enthusiasts should have nothing to worry about, unless this news of a new Worms game has intrigued you to buy a next gen console!

Team17, who first introduced Worms to the world back in 1995, have come a long way in these 19 years, releasing instalments of its franchise on over 25 different platforms, but you avid fans of this turn based game will be privy to this statistic already. Battlegrounds will also be one of the first self-published titles for Xbox One as part of the ID@Xbox program, Team17 is one of the ambassadors.
