The Rocket League June update is almost here. In addition to all of the previously covered content, Psyonix has revealed additional content that will be coming to all Rocket Leauge players in the upcoming update. The June update will be packed with content, such as Dying Light themed items, a new map, fresh quick-chat commands, gameplay tweaks, and much more. If you're a fan of Rocket League, this certainly isn't an update you're going to want to miss.
Players will soon be able to customize their vechicles with two new styles of Items. Psyonix recently annoucned that the June update will come with Painted Items and Certified Items, each having it's own special property. Painted Items will apply a specific color to any exisiting Items you own. When the update drops, it'll initially only cover certain wheels and toppers. Any Painted Items you earn in-game will have a random color pre-applied to it. As for Certified Items, they fall under a completely different category. These will track specific player stats during any online casual or competitive matches, and will have special prefixes that will upgrade as time progresses. To give players a general idea of what to expect from Certified Items, they provided the Sniper Wizard Hat as an example. This item will track the number of long goals a player has scored whenever it's equipped. After the player reaches the pre-set milestones, the item will upgrade itself into a Skillful Sniper Wizard Hat, then an Incredible Sniper Wizard Hat, and will continute to progress from there.
The prefixes for Certified Items will change depending on the accomplishment the player is trying to track. Every stat in the game will have its own milestones, and the tasks that land on the difficult side of the spectrum won't require players to reach the same amount of milestones needed for easier tasks to earn a new prefix. If the concept is still a little hard to grasp, Psyonix will be going in-depth as to how the items will work next week, so stay tuned until then.
In the midst of all of this, Psyonix has also announced a new DLC will be coming to Rocket League very soon. The Aftershock and Marauder, two classic Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars will be making a return this month as a Premium DLC. The first people to recive the new content will be anyone who purchases the upcoming retail release of the Rocket Leauge Collector's Edition on June 24th (Europe) and July 5th (North America.) Anyone who currently owns a copy of Rocket League will have to wait until July 18th, which is when both cars will go on sale for $1.99 each. You can check out the trailer for the DLC here.
Rocket Leaugue is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
