The rollout of last week's 3.5 update for Fortnite wasn't particularly smooth. Shortly after the patch was released, the game was rendered unplayable for many due to a variety of technical issues. Epic offered some free items to make up for the outage, and now the studio is giving away the second batch of freebies to all players.

As another gift to players for the technical issues that plagued Fortnite last week, Epic is offering another set of free items in both Battle Royale and Save the World modes. Battle Royale players can now claim a pack of 20 Battle Stars, which can be used to level up the Battle Pass and, in turn, earn rewards. Save the World players, meanwhile, will receive 1600 Seasonal Gold.

You'll receive the freebies upon logging in, so you should snag them while you can. Last weekend, Epic offered Battle Royale players a free Back Bling item--a new type of customization slot introduced in Season 3. Save the World players also got a free item last week: a Troll Stash Llama.

The latest batch of freebies coincides with the release of Fortnite's v3.5.2 update. That introduced a handful of new content to both Battle Royale and Save the World. On the Battle Royale side, Epic added a new weapon--the Light Machine Gun--and kicked off the "new and improved" 50v50 v2 mode, which will only be underway for a limited time. Save the World received an additional questline that unlocks four new Cyberpunk Heroes and the Mercury LMG weapon.

As another incentive to log into Fortnite this weekend, Epic is offering double XP in Battle Royale from now until April 22. Save the World players, on the other hand, will receive a free Into the Storm Llama each day they log in through Sunday.
