Bethesda has released an update for Fallout Shelter that adds new features (one of which ties into Fallout 4), additional quests, and more.

One of the biggest new features in the 1.8 update is room themes. Players can build room themes based on their favorite Fallout 4 faction; options include the Minutemen, the Railroad, the Brotherhood of Steel, and the Institute. You will need to complete certain quests to be able to craft a special room theme. Additionally, themes can be turned on and off whenever you want, so you're not locked in.

As for the new quests, Fallout Shelter's update adds a "fresh batch" of these, Bethesda said, though they were not specified. However, Bethesda said players can expect upcoming holiday-themed quests. Going off that, Bethesda also confirmed that Fallout Shelter will celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas with special events. This begins with Halloween-themed outfits that will start to show up as quest rewards. "Spooky" room themes will also be available, but only for a limited time.

Today's Fallout Shelter update also adds more iMessage stickers for iPhone users. The first batch of Fallout-themed iMessage stickers came out last month alongside the iOS 10 update. The new stickers include a set of Halloween-themed ones.

Fallout Shelter 1.8 is the first major new update for the mobile game since August's 1.7 update, which added Nuka-World characters to the title. You can see Fallout Shelter's new themed rooms and Halloween updates in the gallery above.

Fallout Shelter is available on iOS, Android, and PC. It's the first mobile game made by Bethesda Game Studios, but it won't be the last. Bethesda's Todd Howard has confirmed the studio is going to make more mobile games, though none have been announced.
