Star Fox is recognized as a classic forward-scrolling 3D Sci-Fi rail shooter created by Nintendo in 1993. Nintendo is now planning to make a new sequel to this original game, called Star Fox Zero. Star Fox Zero will feature a great two player cooperative mode where you and a friend can team up as pilot and gunner to progress. You can then compete for the highest score on leaderboards across the world. However, the date of when this title will be released may have the unfortunate possibility of being delayed. The current release date for the title is April 22nd, which was announced by game designer Shigeru Miyamoto himself. In a recent interview, Miyamoto had a surplus of information about the upcoming title.
He claims that the reason for the series returning is inspired by Star Fox 64, which is the most popular title in the series. Miyamoto also adds that the game will be comparable to Star Fox 64, but with a simpler and more compact structure. In another interview Miyamoto has said, "The game will not be a prequel nor a sequel, but a different envision for the series". Miyamoto also claims that the main goal of Star Fox Zero is to build up interest in dogfighting games.
A few days ago Nintendo revealed some interesting details about several features for Star Fox Zero. First of all, there are new teleporters that will allow players to have multiple paths during the game. They also announced a new two-player mode where one player pilots the air wing, while the other shoots and aims with the Wii U Gamepad.

In addition to the new Star Fox Zero information, Miyamoto confirmed an extra Star Fox game to be titled Star Fox Guard. The title will be a mazy, tower-defense style experience where players can take on the challenge of over one hundred maps, or even create and publish their own for other players to enjoy. There is no doubt that Star Fox Zero could be a major hit, the returning concept of Star Fox 64 could possibly intrigue fans to purchase the game. This new title having a less exhausting learning curve could bring new players to the series as well. Nintendo has without a doubt put a lot of time and effort into the game, but the only concern is... will it sell? This is yet to be determined. But with the game releasing next month, Nintendo still has time to better the game as a whole. Star Fox Guard and Star Fox Zero will release together April 22nd.
