If you're one of those people who has wanted to play the Black Ops 3 MP, but the huge price tag was holding you back, well now you have an answer. Activision announced earlier today that a multiplayer only version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is making its way to Steam effective immediately. The best part is that you can pick it up for only $15.
As expected though, you won't get everything Black Ops 3 has to offer, let alone what the MP mode has to offer. You will not receive the Zombies mode or Campaign obviously, but if you decide to upgrade to the full version to get those two additional modes, then you will be able to do so for $45, $15 less than the base game.
Another thing you'll be missing that might catch you off guard a bit is that there will be no prestige mode in the Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack. Basically, once you get to level 55, you're done in terms of leveling up. You can still continue playing the game however, so I hardly think that this is a bad trade off. Some other stuff you'll be missing out on is the ability to join custom games, the ability to reset your profile as a fresh start and some more things which are yet to arrive.
If you're wondering about the season pass then you can still purchase it with this starter pack, but you'll be getting less than you paid for. You can purchase the Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack anytime from now until February 29th. No plans have been announced to extend this starter pack to other consoles. What do you think?
