Developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor is going to be on both next-gen and current generation consoles. For you who don't know, Middle Earth is a game based around the original Lord of the Rings and Hobbit series. However, this game takes place right between the events that took place during the adventures of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Gamers control a ranger named 'Talion' as he ventures deep into the heart of Mordor, only days before the landscape transforms into a 'blasted hellscape'.
"Both Talion and his family are killed by series baddie Sauron, leading to Talion's resurrection by a rather vengeful spirit that grants him Wraith-like supernatural abilities," reads the description on Joystiq. Players will explore the dark and very personal theme of vengeance in a world where decisions have a consequence, and those consequences persist even after death. The world around is responsive to events that take place within the game. For example, if you fight a foe and he survives, the foe will continue to grow and strengthen with each battle that takes place. This is all achieved with the next-gen groundbreaking Nemesis System that has been developed.
