Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is getting DLC based on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild--and the great news is it's free and it's available right now. Update 1.6 for the racing game adds the Master Cycle Zero and the Champion's Tunic from Breath of the Wild. Also included in the update are tires and a paraglider based on the acclaimed RPG.

The surprise announcement and release of this new Mario Kart 8 content comes just days after Nintendo teased more DLC for the racing game. At the time, Nintendo didn't say anything about what the content would be, but now we now.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 9.22 million copies as of March 31, which makes it the second-most commercially successful game for the console, only behind Super Mario Odyssey (10.41 million copies sold).

The next Mario Kart game is Mario Kart: Tour for mobile devices. It will mark the franchise's debut on mobile platforms, and given the size and appeal of the franchise, it could be Nintendo's next big success story. The game is due to launch by March 2019.
