Killer Queen, the local multiplayer arcade platformer/strategy game from BumbleBear Games, is on its way to Nintendo Switch as Killer Queen Black, Nintendo announced today during its E3 2018 Nintendo Direct presentation.

Killer Queen began years ago as a single unique arcade cabinet, with five players on either side of the unit for 10-person play. However, Killer Queen Black is “redesigned from the ground up” from the arcade game, said Fils-Aime, offering four-on-four play. It looks to have the same frantic 2D action as the original, and it’ll be the first time any version of Killer Queen has been playable at home.

Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, said that interested parties will be able to “play it first on Nintendo Switch,” suggesting that Killer Queen Black is coming to other platforms as well. And indeed, the game is also coming to Windows PC, according to a news release from co-developers BumbleBear and Liquid Bit. Although Fils-Aime gave a 2018 release date, the developers said Killer Queen Black is scheduled to launch this winter, in the first quarter of 2019.
