Gamers have been waiting patiently to get their hands on IO Interactive's upcoming Hitman game. Ever since the success of Hitman: Absolution, fans have been excited to see what was next for the series. IO Interactive have finally announced the Hitman beta, and players will finally get the chance to experience the open-ended maps planned for the game. The Hitman beta will begin on February 12th, 2016 for anyone who had pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4. Anyone who did not place a pre-order will receive access to the beta on February 19th, exactly one week after the pre-order access. If you pre-ordered the game on PC, you will also receive access to the beta on the 12th.

The Hitman beta will take place twenty years in the past, although it’s unclear if this means twenty years before Hitman: Absolution or the year 2015. The story follows a young Agent 47, and his beginnings at a special ICA recruitment and training facility for hand-picked assassins. The beta reveal trailer begins with what seems to be an ICA recruiter discussing Agent 47’s remarkable test results, and how his superior strength and reflexes combined with his lack of morals and remorse make him a force to be reckoned with. The mission in the beta will begin with how Agent 47 was recruited into the ICA, and how he met his handler, Diana Burnwood. This moment in the beta will be a perfect start to the series for new Hitman fans, and a great look into the past for longtime fans of the Hitman series.

PlayStation 4 owners will be pleased to know that Hitman will come with six contracts titled “The Sarajevo Six” which will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4. Each contract will be self-contained, and will follow Agent 47 as he travels the world to hunt down six ex-members of a paramilitary unit called CICADA. Each of the six targets has been deemed guilty of committed heinous war crimes. It’s up to Agent 47 to exact justice on these criminals, by any means necessary.

The six contracts will take players to different locations all over the globe. This includes locations in France, Italy, Morocco, Thailand, Japan, and the United States. The first three contracts will be available as soon as the game launches on March 11th, 2016. The other three contracts will become available to play once new locations are released during the span of 2016. Wil you be pre-ordering Hitman? Let us know in the comments below!
