That's right guys Gauntlet is being reborn and brought back this summer directly to PC on Steam from Warner Bros Interactive and developer Arrowhead Game Studios (the guys who brought you Magicka). For those that may or not remember Gauntlet took the world by storm when it was first released in 1985 and was soon taken over by Midway, who put out Gauntlet Dark Legacy on the PS2, Gamecube, Gameboy Advanced and Xbox. Unfortunately, it sort of fell off the map, to be forgotten by many, myself included, but is now being brought back.
You're probably wondering, well how did Warner Bros come to have the rights to the game? Well when Midway went under a few years ago Warner Bros bought the rights to the game and it will be there first title in the WB Games Vault Portfolio. To take a quote from the article:
Gauntlet will be the first title in the WB Games Vault portfolio, which will provide us with an opportunity to access emerging talent within the game development community and match unique skills and experience with our extensive library of properties.

Gauntlet is a top down RPG game in which you get 4 classes to play as that being the Warrior, Elf, Valkyrie and Wizard in either single player or co-op on the same system or online. The older titles were very simple, you play through various dungeons killing creatures/monsters/people while collecting gold to purchase various upgrades. The game is mean't to be geared towards more casual players so you won't have the same customization that you have in Skyrim, it'll be simple to just pick up and play instead of having to learn a thousand controls. A gameplay trailer for the new one can be seen below.

I am personally very excited to see Gauntlet being brought back as it was a huge part of my childhood and can remember spending hours upon hours doing 4 player co-op with friends, it was a great way to spend time with friends and kill monsters while doing it. I am also very excited to see it coming as a PC only title, which i'm sure will upset many console players but it may entice more people to get into PC gaming with this only being the start of some PC only titles that were once console exclusives.
I'd love to hear your opinions on this so please leave your comments down below!
