A few months back, a trailer for a new Five Nights at Freddy's game entitled Sister Location was released, and although very cryptic, revealed a little about the new installment. Although it's obvious that this new title won't be taking place in the now-iconic setting, it promised more "advanced" animatronics and an even creepier atmosphere. The game's steam page, however, went up yesterday, revealing more about the nature of the game. The page has a few screenshots, a vague and cryptic description of the game, and a release window of October of this year.

The description offers very little information that we don't already know. It advertises a new pizza joint, entitled Circus Baby's Pizza World, which, according to the description, is "where family fun and interactivity go beyond anything you’ve seen at those *other* pizza places!" So, this description obviously teases at the idea of a few more gameplay options than the previous entries in the franchise, as well as a few more scares hinted at by the ironic "family fun" line. The headliner of this entry will be named "Circus Baby," and not much is known about this character. The description gives away that the main character will be a night shift monitor, same as the rest of the entries, who much "enjoy cramped spaces and be comfortable around active machinery." Well, if it's not broke, don't fix it, right? The description concludes with the hilariously out-of-place and jarring line, "Not responsible for death or dismemberment."

Moving to a new location is perhaps a good initiative, but other than that it's the same game with a different aesthetic slapped onto it. Although the trailer advertises the ability to climb through an enclosed space (what appears to be a vent) it doesn't look like Cawthon and Co. are really doing anything terribly ambitious here. Why would he? The past games have all been a success, except the RPG spinoff Five Nights at Freddy’s World, which bombed so hard it was pulled from release for extensive retooling. Perhaps this deviation from the norm struck Cawthon and gave him the idea to not try this kind of divergence ever again, even though it would be a welcome turn for the franchise. There's only so much you can do with an enclosed room and a bunch of creepy animatronics.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location will be coming to PCs everywhere in October.
