The next DLC coming for Fallout 4, titled Vault-Tec Workshop, will allow the player to take on the role of Overseer of their own Vault, complete with the ability to customize the entirety of the inside. It is said that the vaults will be "massive," and you can attract dwellers from the wasteland to come live in your vault. Unfortunately, those dweller may not be safe inside your vault, as you will be able to conduct experiments on your dwellers. It's unknown what these experiments will be, but it certainly sounds exciting. Bethesda plans to show off the DLC during a livestream this coming Tuesday, July 12th. You can check out their Twitch here.
Additionally, the hit mobile game Fallout Shelter is making its way to PC. The game has over 50 million downloads and that number will only increase with the release of the PC version of the game. The PC version releases in a few days, and it is unknown if this version will differ in any way to the mobile version. At around the same time as the PC version releases, the 1.6 update will take off, and promises to bring lots of new content to the game, including more enemies, locations, and characters.
In Fallout Shelter, the player creates and maintains their own Vault. The player can rescue people from the wasteland and give them a home and job inside the Vault. Each unit has their own modified version of the SPECIAL statistics system seen in other Fallout games, and thus certain people may be better at certain things than others. The player has to manage the Vault's power, food, and water, which can be a damning task when you have a large Vault with many dwellers to take care of. While the game doesn't really have a story, it instead has almost limitless gameplay, as you can expand your Vault in an enormous underground fortress.
Vault-Tec Workshop will be available for $5 starting July 26. Fallout Shelter on PC will be releasing on either July 13 or 14, and update 1.6 will be releasing at the same time.
