Epic Games has announced what fans can expect from this year’s second competitive Fortnite tournament season, the Fall Skirmish.

Perhaps the biggest change from the Summer Skirmish, which finished a few weeks ago at PAX West, is the addition of Clubs. For the Fall Skirmish, Epic has created five clubs — Fort Knights, Lucky Llamas, Dusty Dogs, Rift Raiders and Bush Bandits. It’s unclear how their rosters will be determined, so it’s possible that some players who are teammates elsewhere could end up facing each other on different clubs.

Players will team with their clubs when squad or duos game modes are played. Each player’s performance contributes to their club’s standings under a system called Club Points. At the end of the Fall Skirmish, the club with the most points wins $4 million.

The tournament will be divided into six weeks of competitions — which Epic had previously announced — and will span a variety of different game types and team sizes. While the game types themselves still remain a mystery, Epic has let us know what kind of teams we can expect for each week.
  • Week 1 — Duos
  • Week 2 — Solos
  • Week 3 — Duos
  • Week 4 — Squads
  • Week 5 — Solos
  • Week 6 — Twitchcon TBA
The first week will see a Duos match using Epic’s Hold the Throne game mode. The mode lasts six matches and awards points for placing in the top five: three points for a victory royale, two for second or third place, one for fourth or fifth. Teams will also earn points for four or more eliminations: three points for eight or more, two for six to seven and one point for four or five eliminations. In addition, the team with the most eliminations at the end of each round also earns two points.

All of the games from the first week of Fortnite’s Fall Skirmish can be seen on the Fortnite Twitch channel and will kick off on Friday, Sept. 21.

The duo with the most point at the end of the day takes home $67,500, with the rest of the top 10 finishers dividing the rest of that week’s prize pool. The team with the most eliminations wins $50,000. And any duo placing in the top 10 earns a significant amount of Club Points.
