Destiny 2’s Windows PC version will be released Oct. 24 — nearly seven weeks after the game debuts on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, publisher Activision announced today. The company revealed with Destiny 2’s E3 trailer, which was shown during Sony’s E3 2017 press briefing tonight, that the game will launch two days earlier than previously announced: Wednesday, Sept. 6, instead of Friday, Sept. 8. The PC version, which will support advanced visual features such as 4K resolution with an uncapped frame rate, is being developed with assistance from Activision subsidiary Vicarious Visions. Interested parties can now pre-order Destiny 2 on Battle.net.

Activision also provided details today on timing for Destiny 2’s beta, which will roll out gradually from the smallest group of players all the way to anyone who owns a PS4 or Xbox One. The beta will debut Tuesday, July 18, at 10 a.m. PDT for people who have pre-ordered Destiny 2 on PS4. Those individuals will have 24 hours of exclusive early access — Xbox One pre-order customers will be able to start playing the beta at 10 a.m. PDT on July 19. Two days later, at 10 a.m. PDT on July 21, the beta will open up to all PS4 and Xbox One owners. The beta will end 35 hours later, at 9 p.m. PDT on Sunday, July 23.

As for the PC beta, Activision is saying for now that it will be available in “late August.” The company added that it will provide further details on the PC beta “soon.” In addition to one day of early access to the beta, PS4 players will receive exclusive content in Destiny 2, according to the aforementioned trailer. Along with some gear for each class, they’ll get exclusives such as a strike called Lake of Shadows; a ship named City Apex; an exotic sniper rifle, Borealis; and a Crucible map called Retribution.
