The widely popular zombie survival game "DayZ Standalone" might soon be released on next-gen consoles. Dean Hall the creator of DayZ says he is glad with the success DayZ has received on the PC and is thinking of expanding and developing DayZ as a Xbox One and PS4 game. The only thing that is stopping this from happening is that Dean believes that DayZ is not yet in its "Right State". Dean said "We need to get the PC build to the right state, where then it can pull across, and I think everybody recognizes that there’s no sense in starting to pull something across that’s dramatically changing all the time. So really our focus is on delivering the right stuff and answering all the questions as we go through the Early Access with the PC."
For DayZ to be in its right state, all glitches and bugs will have to be fixed and patched. As well as this, the security will have to be tightened down and cheaters will need to be removed from the servers. This seems like a distant dream since the DayZ team recently stated that beta will most likely begin at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year.
For those of you who don't know what exactly DayZ is, its an FPS zombie survival game which takes place in the fictional European region of Chernarus and players must scavenge their way to try and find food, weapons and water as well as shelter. On top of all of those factors, players must also fend off giant hordes of zombies and human players. The idea originated from an Arma II mod and soon became into its own title. As of April 1st 2014 DayZ has sold 1.7 million copies.
Dean Hall plans on leaving Bohemia Interactive later this year but he assured that the game will still be the same and production and development will still run as smooth as ever.
What do you guys think? Do you think you will buy DayZ for the next-gen consoles?
