Snoopy Pop is a free-to-play title with in-app purchases, and that’s where publisher Jam City is coming in with a significant contribution to a canine charity.

    Oculus has announced a hefty discount on its Rift VR headset and Touch controllers. For a "limited time only," the headset, two touch controllers, two sensors, a remote, an Xbox One wireless controller, and a connector for guitar controllers compatible with Rock Band VR can be purchased for £399/$399. Ordinarily, this would cost around £600.

    It's understood that Microsoft's upcoming Xbox One X will be the most powerful gaming console to date, but how well it performs at 4K resolution is still in question. Digital Foundry, which Microsoft collaborated with to reveal the new console's specifications, published a detailed report on some early performance benchmarks. And while it doesn't answer all our questions, it does give us a better idea of the console's power.

    The largest crowds seen for E3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center forced it to open doors 15 minutes early to keep the situation from becoming hazardous, according to several tweets from industry figures. This is the first time E3 has been open to the public. The Entertainment Software Association, which manages the event, sold 15,000 tickets granting three-day access to the expo. Ordinarily, it has been an event for industry, retailers and press covering the subject.

    Astro, best known for its high-end $300 gaming headsets, dropped into the entry-level market with a new $60 headset this week. The wired Astro A10 has a fold-away omnidirectional boom mic which mutes automatically when flipped up, is tuned for gaming by Astro’s audio experts, and includes memory foam ear and head cushions and a super-durable, adjustable headband.
