"With its focus on team play and fast-paced fun, Heroes of the Storm is a fresh take on a very popular genre. We’ve built Heroes of the Storm in a way that makes it accessible to new players, but also challenging enough for veterans who really want to put their skills to the test. We can’t wait to see what Heroes brings to the co-op and competitive scenes once the Nexus opens up to everyone."
From launch the game will have more than 30 playable Heroes and 7 dynamic Battlegrounds where players can choose between several different game modes. Cooperative, where you team up against computer-controlled opponents, good old Quick Match and of course the highly competitive, draft-style ranked play. As in any good MOBA there will be plenty of options to customize the look of your Heroes with a variety of skins, and there will also be a stable of special mounts to choose from that can help you cover ground on the battlefield more quickly. To no surprise, the developer mentioned that more characters, battlegrounds, mounts and skins will be available in the future.

The game has been available to players through a closed Beta for quite some time now and more than 9 million players signed up for it. There's no doubt that this is a title people are eager to get their hands on, and now everyone gets the chance to. The sign up for the open beta in May is open, so if you would like a chance to get into the game early, head on over to the official site and sign up.
To celebrate the official launch, Blizzard will be holding a live-streamed event on June 1 in London, UK, according to the press release we will get more information about this at a later date.
