Batman: Return to Arkham Delayed Indefinitely

Many fans were and will be upset to hear that Batman: Return to Arkham was delayed indefinitely by WB Games earlier today. This announcement comes after the game's official announcement just over a month ago, with a release date of July 26 of this year. The game bundled both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City into one package, remastered for the next generation of consoles.

"After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman: Arkham game experience," according to a post made by a WB Games representative. "We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans."

With the boxset announced just last month after several prior leaks back in March, the game promised to feature "improved graphics, as well as upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders." The folk over at Virtuos were tasked with remastering the game for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and was priced at $49.99 before the game was delayed. You can check out the official trailer for the game here. For those who are unfamiliar with the Arkham series, it began with Batman: Arkham Asylum, which was developed by Rocksteady Studios, in 2009, with the much-awaited successor, Batman: Arkham City, being released just two years later, in 2011.
