Today marks a special day for fans of Back to the Future as today's date is the same one that is visited by Marty and the Doc when they head 30 years into the future to 2015. Judging by the number of people that have grown up with the films as childhood memories, it's no wonder that game developers would wish to pay homage to the films that they had grown up with. To pay respect to one of the movies that their developers have undoubtedly grown up with, games LittleBigPlanet 3 and Rocket League have received DLC that adds content related to the Back to the Future trilogy.
The LittleBigPlanet 3 DLC has added two new costume packs that give you the ability to play as Doc Brown, Marty and Biff from Back to the Future 2 (1985 counterparts) and as Doc Brown, Marty and Clara from Back to the Future 3 (1885 counterparts). There is also a completely new level kit, the hover-board power-up, and new music and stickers, all for players to mess around with and create some brilliant levels.
With this latest Rocket League DLC, players have the chance to blast around in the DMC DeLorean to celebrate one of the most anticipated days in over 30 years. With this small DLC package, you can now choose to drive around in one of the most iconic cars in cinema history. The cost for these nostalgic packs are both at the lower end of the spectrum, with the Rocket League DLC coming in at £1.69 or $1.99 on both PC and PS4 and the LittleBigPlanet 3 DLC coming in at £3.99 or $4.99 for the costume packs.
Alongside the DLC, Nintendo has published the NES light gun classic, Wild Gunman, on the WiiU virtual console. The game originally makes a small cameo in Back to the Future 2 during the 80's diner scene where Marty shows just how much of a CrackShot he is. The game is, unfortunately, only available to the folks over in Europe for now. The game may be available over in the US as the Wii U VC normally updates on Thurdays, so there may still be a chance of a US release, but it won't be in time for Back to the Future Day.
