  1. Pokemon Generation II Retrospective

Last week, we took a look at the first generation of Pokemon games, and talked about what they brought to the table as the first entry in the Pokemon franchise. Needless to say, it was a huge hit, and it’s no surprise that the first generation of games left fans wanting more. In October of 2000, Nintendo sated the thirst of Pokemon fans by releasing the second generation of Pokemon games, Gold and Silver, in North America.
  2. Pokemon Generation I Retrospective

When I was a young owlet, I didn’t really look at video games the same way I do now. Most of my experience with gaming was going over to a friends house and getting to play whatever they happened to have at the time. It wasn’t much, but it was something, and I enjoyed my time spent playing games. It was like this for awhile, until December of 1999, where I received my first console, and with it, my first game: Pokemon. Pokemon was unlike anything I had played up to that point. I’d played...
  3. Rumor Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Coming in 2016?

12 years ago, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was released into the wild, gaining huge success and a sequel the following year. Even after all this time, there’s still a dedicated fanbase surrounding KotOR, especially on the PC version. Now that all this time has passed, the time may be ripe for an update.
  4. Rocket League Review

I’m going to be honest with you guys, when I first heard about Rocket League, I thought it sounded pretty stupid. Seriously, rocket-propelled car soccer sounded pretty insane, and even though I enjoy silly things as much as the next guy, it sounded like a bit too much for me. After having the chance to sit down and play the game, however, my opinion has shifted quite a bit. Rocket League is probably the most fun I’ve had in awhile, and is a refreshing experience for those of you who are...
  5. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Retrospective

So, I’ve got to be honest with you guys; I’ve never really been that big of a Kirby fan. The series is slightly older than I am, but I never really had the chance to play one until recently, this year in fact, and I think it’s safe to say that I’ve been missing out. The Crystal Shards is a genuinely fun, unique adventure, that still holds up today. Let’s find out why that is. For the most part, when I think about gaming in the N64 era, there are several games that come to mind. Super Mario...
  6. Dark Souls III Confirmed

For all of you Dark Souls fans, it's time to praise the sun once more. Dark Souls III has been officially announced, and while we don't have many details, there's plenty of reason to be excited by this announcement. In the weeks leading up to E3, "leaked" screenshots of Dark Souls III were released by The Know on YouTube, giving us an idea of what the game's world might look like. Unfortunately, we still don't know if there's any truth to these photos, as we were given only a CG trailer, but...
  7. UPDATED: Silent Hills May Be Coming To Xbox (false)

Not too long ago, we all mourned the loss of Silent Hills, the upcoming horror game that grabbed everyone’s attention through the excellent demo, P.T. While only a demo, it was a memorable experience, one that gave plenty of people high hopes for the full game. With the news of the game’s cancellation, many people were disappointed, myself included, however there may still be hope for Silent Hills. Currently, rumors are floating around that Microsoft has approached Konami with the...
  8. Bloodborne Expansion Confirmed

Fans of Fromsoft’s Bloodborne will be pleased to hear that Sony has confirmed that an expansion will be coming in the future. Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony’s World Wide Studios, teased the expansion on twitter, saying that “An expansion is coming. More info later this year.”. Certainly, this is exciting news, Bloodborne is an excellent game, and a worthy spiritual successor to the Souls series, it's not surprising that it would get an expansion. This also leads players to...
  9. UPDATED: Fallout 4 Possibly Being Announced at E3?

Those of you hoping for a Fallout 4 announcement and trailer at E3 this year just might be in luck. Mirada Studios, a CG studio founded by Guillermo del Toro to handle 3D contract work for various companies, has spent 4 months working on a CGI trailer for Fallout 4. This information was brought to the attention of the public via the LinkedIn profile of one of the artists who worked on it. While Bethesda hasn't made any sort of official confirmation on the subject, this information does, for...
  10. Playtonic's Yooka-Laylee gets Kickstarted; Meets Goal in 38 Minutes

Back in February, I wrote an article about a new studio, Playtonic, who was comprised of industry veterans and ex-Rareware employees. At the time, they talked a bit about their brand new IP, called Project Ukulele, which is to be a collect-a-thon platformer in the style of Banjo-Kazooie. We’re now in May, and Playtonic has just launched their Kickstarter campaign, which of course has all kinds of incentives and information on the game. Before we get into more specifics, I’m pleased to...
  11. Silent Hills Officially Cancelled

Fans of the horror genre will be extremely disappointed to hear that Konami has officially announced the cancellation of the upcoming Silent Hills, following the departure of Hideo Kojima from Konami. Silent Hills was shown to us through P.T., a playable demo seemingly released by a fake studio, which ended with the announcement of the new Silent Hills. The game was to be a collaboration between Kojima, and Guillermo del Toro, director of films such as Pacific Rim and Hellboy. Needless to...
  12. DICE Confirms AT-AT's to be on Rails in Battlefront

The last couple of days have been pretty exciting for Star Wars fans. With two brand-spanking new trailers out, showing off the upcoming Battlefront and The Force Awakens, set to release later this year. With all the hype being generated by these two trailers, it's important to stay grounded until we've all had a chance to gather more information. While we did get a trailer, what you have to keep in mind that it wasn't actual gameplay, but in engine footage, so we're not really sure of what...
  13. Monster Hunter Stories Announced for 3DS

This weekend in Tokyo, Capcom announced the newest addition to their Monster Hunter franchise, Monster Hunter Stories, an entirely new RPG experience separate from the other Monster Hunter games. Instead of being placed in the role of a Hunter, looking to defeat and capture monsters, you are instead a rider, who, as the name might imply, has the goal of taming monsters and riding them. Unfortunately, other than the trailer given to us by Capcom, we don’t really have any idea of what to...
  14. Banjo and Meat Boy Could Be in Smash Bros DLC?

For those of you who aren’t aware, Nintendo is currently hosting a poll that allows you, and countless other Smash fans, to vote for the next character to come to the series via DLC. Announced last week at the Nintendo Direct presentation, this is certainly an exciting announcement because Nintendo is taking suggestions for any character you want, from any series. That’s right, you can suggest a character from any franchise that your heart desires, which is definitely a bold move on...
  15. New Legend of Zelda Delayed Until 2016

As a big Zelda fan, I was extremely excited when I heard about the new Zelda game in the works. While, at least in my opinion, there are plenty of games both currently out and upcoming that would justify my purchase of a Wii U, a new Zelda game is definitely what would push me over the edge, and I’m certainly not the only one who thinks this. Many of us have been looking forward to seeing this game released before the end of 2015, however Nintendo has made an official announcement that a...
