A variety of new content is on the way to Assassin's Creed Origins this year. That begins this month, when a free update and the first DLC expansion will be released alongside the return of a limited-time event on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

At some point in January, Origins will receive a free update, Ubisoft has announced. This will consist of a new quest to mark the release of the game's Hidden Ones DLC (more on that below). Additionally, players will gain the ability to sell their outfits at weaver shops, and the item pool in Heka chests will grow. With this update, you'll be able to obtain items from the Nightmare, First Civilization, Gladiator, and Wacky packs.

Additionally, Ubisoft is bringing back the Trials of the Gods event, providing another opportunity to square off against two opponents. You'll be able to fight Anubis from January 9-16, followed by Sobek from January 23-30.

Also coming this month is The Hidden Ones. This is a premium DLC pack that sees Bayek exploring a new region and dealing with the Romans. Ubisoft says there's new story content and an increased level cap of 45 (up from 40). The Hidden Ones is included as part of Origins' season pass.

Finally, Ubisoft previewed the gear that will be available through the in-game store and Ubisoft Club in the coming weeks. The Almighty pack hits the store on January 16, while the For Honor pack follows on January 30. The Warden's Oath outfit will hit Ubisoft Club on January 30, while the Harlequin and Chop-Chop items will do so sometime before the end of the month. You can see all of these in the gallery above.
