Again, I'd probably agree with you with other ITX cases, but this one is quite large and is bigger than some mini-atx cases. Go on pcpartpicker and look at the completed builds with that case. There are plenty of builds with 1070's, 980ti's, and a couple 1080's. The few that mention GPU temps in...
I looked at the seagate drive you picked out. From what I have read it seems to be a really good HDD. It is a new version that doesn't have the high failure rates. Saving money there makes the M.2 you picked out a no-brainer. Thanks for your help man.
Normally I think I would agree with you on the heat issues. However, from the scores of builds I have looked at with this specific case, it does not appear to be a problem, even with larger cards.
Thank you for your feedback. I did notice that the ssd I chose would be slow but I simply wanted to save room and a few bucks. I opted for a more expensive hdd because I read the cheaper Seagate and Toshiba drives have high failure rates or don't last long. I'll look into this further as I would...

I've been piecing together parts for my first build over the past few weeks. I know I want a small form factor high-end gaming pc. As a novice, I would like to hear some feedback before I pull the trigger on something so expensive.
I need a laptop for college and have a budget of about 1k. I can buy a laptop through my university for discounts but some of them seem way over priced. I want to know if you guys know a good gaming laptop for around 1k. As always your support and effort is much appreciated.
