What things should I make certain before going on xbox live (I know there is always a chance of getting banned)? Sorry but I'm new and want to make sure I have everything right before going on xbl. I have a liteon on LT+ 3.0.

I always abgx360 my games even though I don't necessarily know what it does.

Also, if I overburn (truncate) a xbg3 game to make it fit on DL disk, is it risky to play online?

Dunno if this is the right location for this post
Anyways, any info is appreciated!

With flashed xbox's you always need to be smart with the games, Don't play a game that hasn't been fully released in your country, It will be safe to play on the day, Make sure your games are burnt correctly, These are the main things to keep an eye on, Ive had my flashed xbox two years and no bans have ever happened to me

Buy a Liteon iHasB model burner, flash the iHasB burner, make sure game is ABGX verified with correct topology and stealth patch it, burn using Verbatims, burn at 2.4x speed, and always be careful when new dashboard updates hit.

Been doing this for over 2 years on same console and haven't been banned yet. Flashing your drive back to stock also helps during dashboard updates.

I still haven't understood exactly what a iHasB burner is and does? How much is it? Does it replace the dvd drive inside the xbox, or what?
Thanks everyone!

The iHasB burner replaces the conventional burner so that you can create a 1:1 copy of a game. You don't want to end up with a burnt game that has chances of the security sectors being screwed up causing you to be flagged. My iHasB burner cost me $20 plus shipping on Newegg. You can check the list of models that are supported on c4evaspeaks.com

I've been playing on flashed consoles for 3 years and haven't gotten banned. I don't really take extra precautions either. I just make sure they have the right topology, layer break, etc. I haven't used abgx in over a year. I might buy an iHasB burner because it seems the security for games is going to start requiring burning with them. I can't play Dragon's Dogma!!! >_< As for now, the bare minimum has been good enough for me these last few years. If I get banned, I won't really care all that much anyways.

What is topology? Also how do I use layer breaks?
Thanks

Yeah, it sucks but you still save money in the long run. $1.57 vs. $59.99 + tax on a new game. The XGD3 has been defeated for good until M$ decides to push out a major dashboard update with some new type of security functions or a new disc format. I highly doubt they would do this considering people are getting flagged with non-modded consoles because their disc tray is trying to read a scratched layer on a disc.

What is topology? Also how do I use layer breaks?
Thanks

Topology has many meanings but in a general sense, it's a complex algorithm of sets of data strings. XGD3 pushed the disc capacity to the limit so it could hold more "data" when they really were just trying kill piracy. Obviously it didn't work.

Here's a good guide on burning your XGD3 games correctly. Always burn using the .dvd file provided.

Ok, so just to clear things up:
1) The iHas Burner just replaces the regular dvd burner that I have in my computer, (and unlike a regular burner) and it can miraculously burn my xbg3 100% without over-burning, letting me play online safely.

2) Why do people flash their iHas burners? (I don't understand that)

3) There is no way to burn an xbg3 game with a regular burner and get it fully 100% working and ready to play online? Is that correct?

4) Another thing is, should I use the settings in the video you posted on all games or just xbg3 games?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, I feel like I need to understand all of this from the roots up.
Thanks very much for all your help

1) Correct

2) You cannot make a complete 1:1 copy of an XGD3 game without modified firmware for the iHas burners. It is the official "safest" way to play backups on XBL.

3) You can burn XGD3 games fine on a regular DL burner but you are taking risks of bad burns, coasters, or a game that could potentially flag your console for a ban. It would just be a matter of time.

4) The settings are best for the iHas drive to maximize your success rate. Those settings are particular for the iHas but you can use them on a different drive but like I said, you are taking the risks in posted in #3.

No problem, just keep in mind that a $20 burner is worth peace of mind if you don't want to shell out $150 for a new console.

On a side note. I have a friend who has been burning games on a regular burner and been playing them just fine. He has been flagged since January so who knows when or if he will get banned.

If you need any additional help or have questions, just quote me and I'll respond as soon as possible.

So after I purchase an iHas burner, I have to also flash it, and then I can start burning?

That is the final question
Thanks for all the great info.

firstly i'd like to say you do not need to take any special precautions, i personally have run a flashed xbox online for around 5 years, i would say the only thing i have ever been cautious about would be installing my originals (when i get hold of them) of the backups i make, that way it will use the "official data" as it were to play from, as for playing games early just dc from live and unplug your hdd and DO NOT SAVE ANYTHING, i personally had blackops around 2 weeks before it was released and played online with a few of the devs and my mate but i wouldn't say its recommendable, best way to burn XGD3 for safe use is to get a cheap Lite-On iHAS124B Burner, if im not mistaken they were getting harder to get hold of but they were cheap i payed £15 new! (around $23 for you American folks) i bought my burner as i run a backup service for people and not one of my customers has ever come back and complained about a game not working so i know its doing the job, any more questions feel free to PM me

What do you mean "the only thing i have ever been cautious about would be installing my originals (when i get hold of them) of the backups i make?"

Thanks for the info

I thought I already flashed my xbox 360 lite-on drive? What's the point of flashing a iHas burner drive that goes into my computer?

Sorry I didn't see your questions, just remember to click the "Reply" button if you wish to get my attention since it sends me an alert when someone is talking directly to me

On your question, your Xbox drive is completely different than the iHas burner. Your Xbox Lite-On is what plays the backups and the iHasB burner is what burns your ISO to the complete 1:1 backup. The point of flashing the iHasB is that you no longer have to truncate in order to burn a game.

Also, how or what do I use to flash my iHas?
What is the firmware called?

lol sorry if I am being a noob.

All of the downloads, including the iHas models, are in this thread: http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/thr...er-1-92-xbox-backup-creator-2-9-0-350.650519/

There is a PDF file that goes into detail on how to flash the iHasB burner and it's extremely easy. No probing required. Don't worry about being a "noob", we've all been there buddy.

when you burn a backup your supposed to own the original so then it isn't breaking the law, but another reason to be cautious by installing the original to the hdd and use the backup to boot it then that way its technically playing the game off the original disk so there is less chance to be caught but it's 100% optional i have had games that i have made a backups of, installed the backup and used and original to boot, i've not once been flagged/banned in the entire 5 years i've had a flashed xbox360 and i've had about 10 xbox's in that time and have flashed many for customers and not one has had one issue with it
