What is the best way to mod an Xbox 360? I mostly modded gamesaves that's really it. I have a Slim but I don't want to touch that one, I want that to be legit for online gaming. And I don't know the first step on what to do, any help?

This is coming from if you have another Xbox other than your slim. Any modding will require opening and doing hardware customization.
For most features you can rgh the Xbox (or jtag depending on dash 7371 or lower) which enables homebrew, unsigned code, free arcade, dlc, unofficial dashboards, and full game modding. This requires a high level of soldering and a chip to glitch the console. You lose XBL with this method.
Other than this there's only drive flashing or using an ODE which lets you play "backups". Same features as a retail except it can.play burnt games (flashed) or ISO files from an external hard drive (ODE). Xbox live is still supported but you have a slight chance of a console ban. Mods are limited to games like WaW and GTA4

All tutorials for the above can be found by a quick search.

If you want to mod game saves use a usb drive and put the save on that and move it to your computer and modify it on here with programs such as: http://www.game-tuts.com/community/modio.php which is probably the most user friendly program for beginning save modders if you want to mod anything further you will be compromising you ability to play online.

No no no you misunderstood my post, I only mod gamesaves, so that's all far as my modding experience goes.

Okay I'll try to find another Xbox 360 to softmod it. I softmodded my ( 1st gen not 360 ) Xbox but that was way back, when you had to do it with action replay. Thank you for your help...

So what are you asking? you cannot Jtag or anything without messing with your online play USB modding is as far as you want to go=least risky

II just want an Xbox 360 ( modded ) that I can play burnt games on. It won't be for online gaming, just to play games. I don't really know **** about modding the Xbox itself, I just know how to mod gamesaves. I didn't want anyone to flame me for being a member for almost a year and not knowing how to mod an Xbox.

Yea for that you need to flash a disk drive or jtag it and you need an older Xbox for that. Because its easier you can buy them pre modded from some people in the buy/sell section of the forums.

you can't "softmod" a xbox. It either is a drive flash or a jtag/rgh.

I'll have to look into that, I don't want to get screwed or buy a pos that doesn't work.
