Yea, um that's what I did. Where do you think I got the ****ing example from? Did you even test it? Probably not.Test things before you say they're fake. This does work.

You don't know what you're talking about, THIS WORKS, AND HAS BEEN WORKING FOR OVER 3 YEARS.Yea, um that's what I did. Where do you think I got the ****ing example from? Did you even test it? Probably not.
actually ive done alot of license transfers lately (actually 1 just today)and its changed to 4 months not a yearYou won't be able to license transfer again for a full year.
Since a lot of people here claim that License Transfer is the only non-hax way to get the map pack free, I'm posting another way. I doubt I'm first to post this, but when I tried searching it is stoopid.
1. Get the microsoft points on account #1.
2. Log account #1 on account #2's XBOX.
3. Buy and download DLC.
4. Now recover account #1 back to account #1's XBOX. Both accounts can play the DLC now!
(I do not claim to be first to find this, I found this on my own though, but it seems pretty simple enough to be common knowledge. This was entirely to remind people that license transfer isn't the only way.)
Yes, it's essentially like you bought it, just remember, if you delete it, you can't get it back.Could someone explain this to me.
-Friend Recovers your Gamertag to his Xbox
-Friend downloads MapPack (or whatever) and waits for download to complete
-Friend finishes. You now recover your gamertag back.
-You go to 'Download History' and see MapPack (or whatever) there on top and click 'download again'.
-Friend has original xbox that downloaded and you have original tag that downloaded it so you and your friend enjoy together but only had to pay for it once.
My question is, does the DLC (or whatever) work for you OFFLINE, away from Xbox LIVE? When I say 'you' I mean the guy who didn't get the content by being the first to press download on it, but rather by download history.
Hope this makes sense, I just want to know the pro's-con's of each side. Thanks

Honestly, nothing can go wrong. There are two licenses tied to DLC, one is for your gamertag, one is for your xbox. As long as you have 1 of them, you can play the DLC without any problems.I really don't want to test this because of what can go wrong, but if you recover and download the DLC again wouldn't that be getting it back?
That wouldn't work. All that would do is give you a trial game if it's an arcade title, or if it's like a map pack or something, the game wouldn't recognize it or it would say it's corrupted, or something like that.Couldn't you just download a file that has the DLC that you want off of the internet and then use Modio or any other program and then take your Profile and Device ID's and copy and paste them to the DLC so that they will be your's?
Sounds interesting... I'm going too definitely do this. Thank's bud.-snip-
The only way I know of, to lose a license tied to your GT is to do a license transfer, that's why I don't license transfer with people, because I constantly delete stuff and so if I deleted something but transferred the license to somebody, I would have to rebuy the item, which is stupid.
tl;dr version: This method splits the two licenses you get apart when you buy a DLC, this method is old, and cannot be "patched" otherwise MS would have to replace their whole marketplace. Hell, if they patched it, then people in the same household with multiple accounts would have to rebuy the same DLC over and over again to play together, which would make MS lose sales too.
Whatever account the DLC is purchased with will be given a license tied to their GT, and the ONLY way to lose that license is to do a license transfer. So as long as you don't do a license transfer with the person, they have nothing to lose, just do it with people you trust, I'd feel bad if you got your account stolen or something along those lines. I also recommend you change your PW after you do this, you can't trust anybody anymore.
