How to Run XEX menu with only a USB drive

Purpose
To run XeXmenu from a flash drive on a jtagged xbox with dashboard 9199 and without the use of a burnt CD or a transfer cable.

Requirements
-USB Drive(flash drive or external USD drive)
-USB Xplorer- Download Link
-XEX Menu(Live) – Download from Xbins
-Jtagged Xbox with dash 9199

First-
Extract all RAR and zipped files

Second-
Connect your USB drive to your jtaggex xbox with Freeboot 0.3x(dashboard 9199) Go over to System Settings and then down to memory. A USB drive should appear. Select it and it will ask you if you would like to configure it. Select “Configure Now”

Third-
Create a folder on your desktop named “Content”

Inside that create a folder named “0000000000000000” - That is 16 zero’s

Forth-
Find your XeXmenu folder that you extracted in the first step. You’ll find several folders inside that, you want the one with the LIVE name in it. Several folders deep you’ll find a folder named “C0DE9999”-that’s C-zero-D-E-9-9-9-9 you will want to copy that folder and paste it into the “0000000000000000” that you created in step 3.

Fifth-
Plug USB Drive that you had formatted in step 2 into the computer.
Start USB Xplorer.
Click File and open Drive.

Two Partitions will show up, left click on “Data Partition”
Right click in the open space on the right and “inject folder”

Find the “Content” folder you saved to your desktop.

Click ok

You now have XeXMenu on your flash drive. Now you have no need for a transfer cable! Enjoy!

Just Plug into your jtag and go to game library. It will be listed there. And remember, you need a jtag for this

Nice tut use a transfer cable=easy

Oh, I agree. It was just that when I first jtagged my xbox, I didn't have a transfer cable. But once you have XeXMenu, you almost don't need a transfer cable since you can transfer all kinds of files using XeXMenu. So I still ended up getting one, but i really don't use it.

This is good because I don't feel like burning a disc and wasting it.

Connect your USB drive to any Xbox with dashboard 9199(yes a jtagged xbox with dash 9199 will work too).

Wait, what?
Is dashboard 9199 different from dash 9199?

Unless its a typo?

I have no idea..

Now, click on that folder you just created. It will take you inside the folder and again show you the two periods. Now click on “Inject Folder” A new window will pop up, find the folder where you saved extracted XeXMenu(Live) to and find within the folder the C0DE9999 folder. Have it highlighted like I do and click ok.

Hi, I am currently stuck at this step. The USB Xplorer interface was changed and there isn't an "Inject Folder" option anymore, and only an "Inject" option. I tried using this but it only inputs a single file. I tried manually creating the previous folders (c0de9999 + 00080000) and injecting the Xex file at the end, but it didn't work. Any tips on how to get past this part? Thanks.

You probably have the old version of USB Xplorer try re-downloading from different source

^this.

Download it from where I showed you(I had downloaded it a few days after he came out with it, and I believe it has an auto-updater. So make sure that whatever computer you are running it on has access to the internet. Also it should work if you added the other folders and then the file. If not, definitely, redownload it. I'm not sure but he might have had some issues with it when it was first made. Goodluck

check what I just wrote. But also, its not an XEX file that you are injecting. When you download XEXmenu from Xbins its in the form of a RAR or a zipped folder. Extract it. Inside there will be 2 or 3 folders. One of the folders has the word "LIVE" in it. Thats the one you want. Somewhere inside there you'll find the C0DE9999(thats C-zero-D-E-9-9-9-9) and the other folder.

YES YOU NEED A JTAG TO RUN XEXMENU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No matter what.
Otherwise it'll be a "corrupt" file.
