| 7S Addict | 850mAh Battery Upgrade Mod This mod will guide you through the steps necessary to upgrade your Zune with a brand new 850mAh battery. You can purchase the 850mAh battery online from a number of sources including eBay (about $9.99 + shipping) or from websites like iPodMods ($19.99 + shipping). As you can see, you'll save a lot of money buying off eBay, but the availibility is kind of limited. Estimated Mod Time: 5-10 minutes Mod Difficulty: Easy Tools Required: Fine-tip philips Screwdriver, Fine-tip flathead screwdriver, 850mAh Zune/iPod Battery. Old 3.7VDC, 800mAh Battery. This is what we will be removing: New 3.7VDC, 850mAh Battery. This is what we will be installing: Information & Setup This mod will guide you through the steps necessary to upgrade your Zune with a brand new 850mAh battery. This is a very simple mod, but does required you to open your Zune device. Please take care in executing this mod in order to prevent damage to your Zune device. WARNING... Modifying your Zune is a risky process and if not done properly it will ruin your Zune. Opening your Zune device also voids your Zune warranty making it impossible to return it if a problem should occur. Step 1 Use a flathead screwdriver, or some other small prying object to remove the bottom panel that covers the outside of the charging port. Step 2 Once the cover is removed you will see two very small phillips screws holding the case together. Remove those, but be careful not to strip them because that will make reassembly much more difficult. Also be careful not to lose the very small screws, as they can be easily lost. Step 3 Use a flathead screwdriver (or some other prying object) to pry apart the case. Start at the bottom of your Zune and work your way to the top. The case will appear to hinge at the top, but just wiggle it a little and it should come apart fairly easily. Step 4 Once the backing is off, you can access the factory battery. (NOTE: the inside of your Zune will probably differ from the one pictured. The one in the photo has had its hard drive upgraded): Unplug the orange ribbon cable and then remove the battery from the Zune. Step 5 Place the new battery into the Zune's battery compartment and connect the orange ribbon cable. Make sure to lock down the brown clip that holds the tab in place. Step 6 Re-place the Zune's back piece, replace the screws, and re-insert the bottom panel. After completing the installation, plug in the USB cable and allow it to fully charge before using it. Congratulations, you have successfully replaced your Zunes battery with a new higher capacity one. THANKS TO ZUNEMODS |

| I swear I'm not mod. ![]() | adding 50 mah is good but u will barely see a change. it will be mabey another half an hour of battery 2 an hour, not worth ruining your warranty.
