Rock Band update transfers old songs to upcoming sequel

Even though the first sequel to the much-loved Rock Band isn't out for a while yet, developers Harmonix have officially announced that an export feature to transfer songs is now available in the Marketplace. For only 400 Microsoft points ($5), you can transfer 55 RB1 songs over to the new game. Not all the songs have made the cut though, due to licensing issues, and so tracks from Metallica, Iron Maiden, Tokio Hotel and Black Sabbath won't be available in the new game. It's a shame that these tracks haven't made it, but having the ability to transfer even a few songs to the new game is something more music games should consider-SingStar, we're looking at you.

Yeah, that does kinda suck that you wont be able to transfer the full DLC songs over ...but things may change between now and the release date so we all ight be in for a treat.

Guitar Hero and those *******s at Neversoft bought exclusive rights to those artists. Doesn't do anything for them though. Just makes RB fans hate them and Brian Bright.
