Would it be possible to use xplorer360 to "restore image" a working hdd?

For example, somebody with a working hard drive uses xplorer to create an image of their working drive, then uploads/emails/whatever that file to me, could i use the xplorer hotswap to solve everything?

I may just convince a "friend" of mine to let me clone his drive. But this guy is a pain to get ahold of...

In your pics it says that it found xbox partitions on your drive. How do I get those back?
If it doesnt find xbox partitions on your drive, then it will ask you to make them.

Well, I let it sit at that stage for 6 hours and nothing happened, so I give up. Thanks for your time anyway though.

Well, the shipping costs would probably be alot to ship the xbox. And you dont have the eeprom

But ive heard there are ways to get an eeprom.

Re: Reformatting your Xbox HDD to factory default

Still theorizing here:
Where would I want to look using xplorer360 in a good drive, to find the eeprom?
Or am I confused as to what the eeprom is?

Note:
Neither box would be on Live, I just want to play backed up games and homebrew and such.

Re: Reformatting your Xbox HDD to factory default

The eeprom is basically a code that the Mobo and the HDD have. Without each one having it the xbox wont work.

Curses.
One last question, and if it's a no then I'm done
Is there a way to put an eeprom onto my HDD then make it flash the eeprom on my mobo to match it?

The mobo eeprom is on an eeprom chip. You either change the chip or get a modchip.

Lol no problem. If you ever really want your xbox to work again, you can send it to me and ill fix it, install a softmod, back everything up, and then give you access to some of my secret apps. All you have to do is pay for shipping. But that can get expensive.

I'm a little tight on cash, but if you PM me where to send it, and if I get the cash, I'll toss it your way. Still major kudos on the guide, I just got really unlucky XD.

Well, just see how much it is first. I might open up my repair shop again.

Re: Reformatting your Xbox HDD to factory default

I said I would drop it but I lied, would a chip make all the badness go away? Or does that still not fix the eeprom on the HDD problem?

Re: Reformatting your Xbox HDD to factory default

The chip would help because you could use a bios that doesnt check for the eeprom.
