iv got a modded xbox but no xbox live. if i download maps of the internet can i still transfer them to my xbox?

iv tried to create the apropriate folders on my xbox but i cant find the maps when im playin halo 2

You have to have h2 on your hdd to play modded maps from the disc. If you want to play the DLC maps, then just overwrite your old ones.

You can do whatever you want as long as you know what you are doing or what to do. If you know what you want to do, search around the site. I know we have tutorials on just about anything that deals with halo and modding them on the Xbox.

i gotta say.. this is a great tutorial. but one problem. when i do the FTP and send my modded map back to my xbox. and i try to turn my xbox on to test it. when i get to the pregame lobby. the game just freezes on me what do i do?

Are your permissions set to 644?

permissions for what? flash fxp? or the xbox?

Both...in flashfxp you can set permissions on your xbox using CHMOD.

As you have a valid XBL subscription and an internet connection hooked up to your xbox you should be able to get them for free via your xbox. From the main menu of halo 2 go to "Xbox Live", sign in and then go to "Content Download" and you should be able to download the maps for free.

I dont know if anyone is reading this thread anymore but i am fairly new to this but i learn easily. i bought my xbox from gamestop as a refurb and For some reason i cant download XBL i cant even update with the halo 2 disk. Is this because of my ndure softmod(mind you that my 360 will hook up with the same jack)? Well to my real question. Since i cant download any updates or connect to XBL i just downloaded the maps and ftp-ed them to my xbox but i am not able to see them when i go to play a split-screen game. i just downloaded mainmenu.map but i have no idea where this goes. is that the only thing i need to make my maps work or do i have to download them from xbl? thanks for the help guys and the tut is amazing(one thing i did notice with DOTHALO is you need to tab through to change numbers if you click you will often get an error!).
