| Novice | Hi all, I soft modded my xbox and the installation was a success but then I tryed the program flashfxp and it will not connect to my xbox i did what the tutorial said to do i went over and over and over it and it keeps coming up FlashFXP v3.3.5 build 1110 [BETA RELEASE] Support Forums at http://forum.inicom.net WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.8a 11 Oct 2005 [R] Connecting to 192.168.0.3 -> IP=192.168.0.3 PORT=21 [R] Connection failed (Connection timed out) [R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1 so if anyone can help me out with this problem i would appreciate it and i will bow apon u??? thx!!! this is how i am connecting to it modem 2 router and then through my router i have my pc and xbox and i have a crossover cable hooked up 2 my router 2 my xbox Last edited by mast3rmind; 03-19-2006 at 04:13 PM. |

| Member | your xbox is probably not set on dhcp usually routers don't give out addresses with 192.168.0.xxx as the ip. 0 is resevered for direct connection between two pcs. and your other problem is you don't use a crossover cable with a router you use a normal ethernet cable. crossover is for direct connections between computers or xboxes |

| Novice | your xbox is probably not set on dhcp where at is the dhcp located at on a xbox how would i get to it plz help i am a newb i have evolution x as my dashboard where can i find it if it is on there i went under settings on the modded dashboard and looked at network and the type it says it ''static'' and then it gave me the ip i posted in my last post and im lost so plz help!!!! | Novice | in the mod dashboards settings/network settings it has type static and i can't change it to dhcp.. by the way ty 4 helping!!!!!! by the way i have two ether net cards in my pc so what i did was put my crossover in one an run it to my xbox an it still wont work.. | 50 49 4d 50 | If you've got your xbox connected to your PC via a crossover cable, you need to make sure that the network adapter (the ethernet card) you're using is configured to work with the IP address you have assigned to your xbox. I wrote a tutorial called "Configuring your PC to use a crossover cable". Find it, and follow the instructions. Just make sure to set your PC's IP to 192.168.0.4 for the network connection you're using. It will probably be the one that says "disconnected" in the status bar. |
