How To Ftp To Your Xbox

So, I messed with some settings in XBMC and managed to get the FTP to work. I can also access the network directly through XBMC. I can stream files from my computer, I just dont know how to save them to the Xbox. Also, where should one save video?

EDIT: I MAY have figured it out. Xbox doesn't like the .MKV's I was transferring. I would still like to be able to save directly from XBMC and the network.

Your xbox is modded right and you do have it/your computer connected to your router?

If your computer is connected to your Xbox and you have the id and pw xbox then the problem has to be your IP. You may have the wrong one typed in.

Umm. no. I did the 2nd IP as DHCP and it changed the first IP to 0.0.0.0
AND I KNOW THAT ISINT RIGHT! How do I get the RIGHT one because obiviously your little change from the IP to DHCP or AUTOMATIC Just isint working

If you want help answer a few questions for me, you have your computer and xbox hooked up to a router when your trying to FTP right? You did change your ip to DHCP in your modded dash and then restarted your modded dash right (you press and hold back, start and both triggers to restart your modded dash)?

I need help please! Me xbox is softmodded, i have unleash X as my dashboard. I set my i.p. to DHCP but it shows the i.p. as 0.0.0.0.0 ? Something like that just acouple of zeros. SO i do not know what to put for the i.p?

Do you have your Ethernet cord plugged into your xbox and into your router? If so after you set it to DHCP press back, start and both triggers at the same time and it should change.

It depends what kind of router you have but try typing in "192.168.0.1" into your address bar. What should come up is your ISP settings page. Now my router uses Ambit Broadband and the username and password I use to get into that is "user". Now if you have a linksys router the username is blank and the password is "admin". If your router is different, the id and pw should be displayed on the page. If not, let me know and I'll try to look it up if you can't find it.

At this point, simply go into your DNS settings and view the IPs. Remember, you want your Xbox's IP, not your Internets. Once you find this IP you should be good to go. Just put that one in your FlashFXP.

Note: Be VERY careful while viewing this page. You don't want to edit any of the settings because if you don't know what your doing, one mistake will screw your network up and you'll have to get a technician to come out.

Bellsouth your provider? Me too. I have a 2wire modem/router. Just connect both your computer and xbox to the router or through the wireless and go from there.
